About Us

The Social Welfare Network (SWN), is a not for profit, Community Interest Company (CIC). It was set-up by Marlan Higgins of Legal Advice Direct Solicitors to develop a network of agencies committed to increase access to advice for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

The aim of Legal Advice Direct & Social Welfare Network is to place access points to advice within the heart of the communities most at need.

The SWN is working in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council, Children Centers, Oxford City Council, London Borough Of Croydon Council, Home Office, Legal Services Commission, Reducing The Risk (Charity) and members of the Oxfordshire Multi-agency Group for Domestic Violence, Afrian Caribbean Community Action Network (ACCAN), Thames Valley Police, Bucks Carers, Aylesbury Vale Racial Equality Council, Oxford Racial Equality Council and members of the Thames Valley Network of Racial Equality Councils.

The Network was formally launched by the West Oxfordshire MP Mr. David Cameron on the 22nd March 2007.
